Gerrie was a Technical Teacher for 4.5 years. He joined Carab in April 2008 as an Engineering Technician and did the Carab setup for Matla and Kriel power stations.
In January 2009 he was appointed as Testing and Training Manager.

Gerrie has a BA Degree, a Post Graduate Certificate (Technical), BEd Honors in Educational Law as well as a Project Management Certificate.
